Sakura Jacket
Ring Jacket
The Sakura jacket, or cherry blossom jacket, really epitomised the notion that ignorance is bliss; I didn’t know I needed this because I didn’t know it existed.
It’s not that I am opposed to pink jackets, not at all, but they hadn’t been on the list until I saw this.
In addition to thread density it’s important to take into account weave tightness when looking at cloth properties, in which this jacket fares really well.
Alternating a plain weave and rib weave, does leave the latter part slightly less breathable than the former, but the overall weave is open enough to suggest this might be wearable even during midsummer.
Although not related to the cloth, by sewing pink button holes, the pink in the cloth is being emphasized essentially just enough to result in a pink, but not quite pink impression.
As if that wasn’t enough, the white mother of pearl buttons conversely softens the impression while adding yet another layer of interest to the jacket.
From fabric to tailoring details, they really thought this one through.
